How to configure Meizu phones for Gentle Wakeup

Some phone manufacturers suppress alarms scheduled by apps. They want to extend the battery time of the devices so they kill processes running in the background and suppress apps which activate themselves.

Even though Gentle Wakeup does not consume any battery when in background and the alarm is clearly defined as a clock alarm some manufacturers still ignore these settings and just blindly suppress any app by default.

Without white-listing the app there is a risk that the alarm does not fire if the app has not been used for a few hours or some days.

Please check if any of the following settings can be set on your phone and adjust them to the recommended value. If a setting is missing or needs to be corrected please use “Send Feedback” in the app. You can also use a standard Android alarm 5 minutes later in the first week until you are sure that it is working properly.

  • Settings / Advanced Settings / Battery manager / Power plan
    Set to Performance
  • Device Settings / Advanced Settings / Battery Manager / Protected apps
Check for Gentle Wakeup as Protected
Device Settings / Apps / Gentle Wakeup / Battery
Set Power-intensive prompt and Keep running after screen off.
